On Tuesday, Microsoft provided information related to details on how Windows desktop computers might have been hacked via a Google announced bug. This announcement by Microsoft gives even more reasons for hackers to exploit Windows machines by using information given by competitors.
A security researcher of Insecure.org found an exploit in Windows 7 that can be abused to crash systems on a LAN (Local Area Network). The security flaw has been found in the SMB protocol that is responsible for shared access to printers, files, etc. He suggest to turn off file/printer sharing and close all SMB ports.
