Star Wars Episode 7 Release Year Announced, Episode 8 and 9 Coming As Well
Many Star Wars fans have been waiting for this announcement for a long time: Star Wars Episode 7, 8 and 9 are coming – sooner than you may think
Disney, one of the largest media companies in the world, acquired Lucasfilm for roughly 4 billion USD (both money and shares) and plans to release Star Wars Episode 7 as early as 2015
Episode 3 (Revenge of the Sith) was the last Star Wars movie to hit theaters back in 2005. Now, 7 years later Disney is in full-attack mode and trying to create a worthy successor to a legendary movie franchise.
Approx. release date: Summer 2015
Not only does Disney have plans for Episode 7, 8 and 9, rumor has it that they are actively planning 6 movies. This stands in stark contrast to what George Lucas said once: “I will never make another sequel to Star Wars”
What do you think about this idea? Do you still have an interest in new Star Wars movies or do you have a hard time getting used to the many CGI effects in Episode 1 – 3?
