The release date for id’s shooter Rage has been announced. As John Carmack said, Doom 4 could possibly be released before Rage. Rage is not getting released any time soon. Pictures and release date infos after the break.

The confirmed release date for Rage is September 13, 2011. So, we have to wait another year and a month until we can get our hands on Rage. At least id have time to work on the multiplayer part then! Rage will definitely have a multiplayer part, but it’s not ready yet to be revealed to a broad audience. John Carmack also said that it might support dedicated servers and include co-op missions, but it’s too early for concrete plans.

The solo campaign of Rage will be so big that Bethesda will have to ship Rage on two DVD’s. So, I’d say the solo campaign is definitely the focus and not the multiplayer.
