Well, despite the price tag, I took a glance at the Lenovo T400:

The Lenovo T400 is one of the laptops that have a MultiTouch screen, that’s probably one of the reasons why it’s so expensive.

The hardware specs are ok, but could be better for $1,599 – $1999 ($1599 without MultiTouch): Intel Core2 Duo with 2.40GHz and 2GB RAM. Lenovo T400 Hardware Specifications

Lenovo’s laptop has it’s own touchscreen interface. You can access it by imitating a double-click on the screen with your fingers. This menu will come up:

According to Lenovo, hardware/software vendors will be able to customize the interface and add new applications.

MultiTouch works flawlessly and it’s very intuitive . You can even use multiple fingers to reduce the size of windows or drag and drop stuff on your desktop. Currently, there aren’t many applications that effectively use the MultiTouch, but there are many awesome ideas. Microsoft Research features a lot of great ideas in this video:

Ideas like VPlay from Microsoft Research simply rock. Who wouldn’t want to mix their video clips intuitively on a touscreen?
If you have ever edited a video before, you know that it is a highly complex task and you can quickly lose track of things.
