Max Payne 3’s multiplayer mode wasn’t a quick add-on: Rockstar’s releasing the first DLC pack – Local Justice – next month, discounted
Rockstar has announced that Max Payne 3, which released last month, is to get its first downloadable content pack: Local Justice. Multiplayer focused, the DLC pack brings new items and maps to the multiplayer side of the game.
The new maps are apparently, according to Rockstar on its official blog, areas from the closing moments of the campaign; a new weapon, item, multiplayer faction; and new Achievements/Trophies/Social Club accomplishments (achievements, basically).
Other changes include the 55 Battalion HQ map for all modes, Imperial Palace and Departure Lounge for Team Deathmatch, Deathmatch and Payne Killer – the mode where players have to kill Max Payne and/or his sidekick – the Light Fingers Item for quicker looting off players, the M4 Assault Rifle with attachments and the Sao Paulo Police Faction which is customizable.
Rockstar Pass Best Value For Money
During the launch week the DLC will sell for 480 Microsoft Points or $5.99 on PlayStation Network and PC as the pack was originally scheduled for June. After that week it will rise to 640 Microsoft Points for $7.99. The Rockstar pass, the company’s version of EA’s Season Pass, is available for 2400 Microsoft Points or $29.99. For those who are going to be playing Max Payne 3 for the rest of the year, that’s probably going to be excellent value for money.
From July 3 all pre-order DLC will be available on Xbox Live and PSN – free to Rockstar Pass buyers – is: the Cemetery Map, for 1600 Points or $1.99; the Silent Killer loadout pack, for the same price; the Pill Bottle time for 80 Points or $0.99 PSN; and the Classic Max Payne character (Max Payne as he looked in the previous games) for 80 Points, or $0.99 on PSN.
PC players will be getting the DLC two weeks later, on July 17. Rockstar said in the post more DLC will be coming in the summer and fall.
