Kinect Prime Sense coming for PC, Set-top boxes, HTPCs
Microsoft’s next-generation controller Kinect – more precisely the technology behind it, PrimeSense – will be coming for PCs, set-top boxes, HTPCs and other devices.
PrimeSense is the technology that tracks all human behaviour with a camera. Kinect has also has voice recognition and a movable camera that can track you even while you move, but that won’t be coming for other devices expect Microsoft’s Kinect! Still the technology is pretty amazing and controlling your TV or HTPC with gestures only is one step into the future (Minority Report, anyone?).
I won’t be surprised if Microsoft is going to advertise Windows 8 along with gesture-controlling features – that would be really neat!
