The iPhone 5 Release Date: September 2011?

So far, according to various sources, the anticipated released date for the newest model of iPhone is sometime this year (2011). While the original release date was planned to be sometime in June or July according to AT&T, that has now officially been changed and it is looking like it has been pushed back to at least September. According to rumors, the delay is due to a lack of manufacturing parts for the mobile device as well as some last minute design changes to make the new iPhone more functional.

A New Design

One of the major changes in the iPhone 5 specs and features is its design. This iPhone is said to be the thinnest yet. The rumor is that the iPhone 5 is going to take its design from the iPad 2, which means it will be more rounded and have a metallic back. This particular iPhone model could also be the first model to feature a sliding keyboard for easier typing – for texting and web browsing. A final design feature that could be released is that it will come in more than one color, featuring a white design also instead of just black.

Changes to the iPhone Screen

There are likely to be many different changes to the iPhone 5’s screen. For starters, it will be larger than previous models (4-inch 720p display). Since the screen is going to be bigger, it will be able to support a higher resolution than most other mobile phones out there. The new iPhone may also feature more RAM, up to 1 gigabyte. This would allow the phone to run smoother and support more applications and games. The iPhone 5 should also have an A5 processor, which is the same processor found in the very powerful iPad 2. This would make the smartphone more functional in all aspects.
