I am getting the huge cursor as well with Windows 7 Professional 64bit and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470, 1 GB. The first time it happened, it locked up my computer….new computer only 2 days old.

the EXACT same thing happened to my PC.
    its on a Studio 1558. i7 1.8ghz, 500GB, 4gb ram, mobility HD 5470 1 GB.
    Win7 home premium 64 bit.

the interesting thing is, when i accesed the site, my cursor was HUGE.
but at some point halfway through reading this site, it turned SMALL!!!
i know that it didnt fix the problem, but its an interesting point.

my ATI catalyst is pretty much up to date. the laptop is about 2 weeks old. i JUST ran a clean re-install with fresh CD. the OS is functioning perfectly. activated, validated. all drivers are functioning properly…
we’ll wait for a fix from ATI.

FYI, the link provided for Win7 fix was noted to be “unauthorized download” and i cannon download it.

    interesting, and also, annoying problem.
    thanks for post.

@Tristan. Wow my config. is eerily similar to yours and, as you, I am afflicted by the same problem. Are you also getting total graphic shutdowns? some times my screen just flickers and the whole OS crashes, going back and forth between a black screen and showing the OS in huge resolution. Pretty scary stuff.

I am running an ATI Radeon 5730 graphics card. I have a Lenovo Y560 that is also 2 weeks old, with an i7 processor, 8 gigs of ram, 7200 rpm 500 GB HDD.

At random intervals, the screen flickers to black, and once windows 7 64 bit crashed entirely. I uninstalled all my 3rd party software, and even reinstalled the BIOS from Lenovo in a vain and random attempt to fix it. [it didn't fix it].

And of course I have the huge cursor. It only happens in about half of my sessions, and sometimes goes away.

The link on this page for a windows 7 fix from ATI doesn’t work, and I also tried to locate something similar from the ATI main page and couldn’t.

ATI people: please announce a fix!!!!
