    When you install Microsoft Security Essentials it actually automatically disables the service.

    after having trouble dl updates for Windows Defender, I started reading some information about it. I read that Windows defender is not compatible with win 7. Other sites as this one is saying that it is. What do i do? Thanks, Linda
