Halo 4 Specializations List: Re-Explained After Community Furore Breaks Out

Halo 4 Specialization List

Describing Halo 4 as Call of Halo is lazy and rudimentary; however, it’s a valid criticism fundamentally because of the subtle element coming over from Call of Duty. Though Specializations really don’t seem as bad.

Halo 4 is not Call of Duty, and here’s why

Halo 4 Specialization List

Yesterday, an interview over at IGN with 343 Industries designer David Ellis revealed a feature long-teased in Halo 4: Specializations. In summary Specializations are end-game content that provide a variety of in-game modifiers, along with cosmetic upgrades from armor to emblems.
So, with the disclosure out of the way, we’re going to go through Specializations. Again.

Wetworks

Dampens the sprinting ambience, animations are performed faster, and the Stealth modification as part of Wetworks mean you appear as an outline rather than a moving red figure.

Pioneer

Grants players a greater amount of post-game experience. The Fast Track armor mod granting the ability takes up a primary slots — so if you want extra grenades, you better swap out — and you can’t equip Pioneer and Fast Track at the end of a game to get bonus experience.

Tracker

Includes the Requisition armor modification and basically rerolls a personal ordnance drop — the drops you earn after getting five kills without dying. Hitting up on the D-Pad spawns new weapons. Seems to be a one-time use.

Not That Bad After All

Rogue

The Stability armor modification causes less flinching when being shot whilst zoomed in. 343 Industries admits it’s only a slight advantage, because ultimately the better players will win firefights.

Stalker

The Nemesis Armor Mod gives players an icon on the HUD of your previous killer. 343 says it can be used defensively and offensively.I’d like to know if this is being enabled in Objective game types.

Pathfinder

The Gunner Armor Mod has two effects: vehicle-mounted guns overheat less quickly, and players can move faster when carrying detached weapons. For example, firing the Wraith turret will overheat less quickly and you’ll now move faster with the turret. The turret’s usually a powerful weapon, so I’m skeptical over Pathfinder.

Operator

The Wheelman Armor Mod means EMP blasts, slowing down vehicles or causing them to stall, are felt for a shorter period of time. Vehicles also have greater durability, and the hijacking vehicles window is smaller.

So not that bad after all.
