Today, Microsoft announced that they will launch the Games for Windows marketplace with initially 100 offer their best games. Halo and Gears of War fans will have a new home!

Microsoft Game Studios has a pretty nice portfolio of games. Gears of War and Halo are two of the biggest gaming franchises worldwide. That alone will attract millions of players.

If you have a Windows Live ID you’ll be able to shop online for some of the best games. The shop will support the old Microsoft Points.
The Games for Windows marketplace will be fully ntegrated into the XBOX and Windows Live services. Microsoft will also have weekly deals and discounts, so be prepared for a price slash and be on the lookout for some hot deals. With Steam and Games for Windows offering weekly deals, you’ll now have two stores where you can grab some great games for a nice price. Not so bad, huh?
