Windows 8 Could Get “Reset To Factory Default” Feature

Rumor has it that Windows 8 could get a very special feature that people wanted for a long time: A reset to factory default with a single click. How does that sound?

Reset To Factory Default, who has previously informed the Windows community about various Windows 8 leaks, even provided a screenshot this time.

Windows 8 Reset To Factory Default

We already know the “system restore” feature, that many people use daily. The new feature at the bottom “system reset” could reset Windows 7 to the factory default. That would be pretty handy if you completely mess up your computer settings or want to sell it.

Personally, I’d rarely use such a feature. Much like the “system restore” feature it is a feature for beginners who are overwhelmed with fixing their PC. However, it could also be a valuable tool for various tasks and even system administrators who need to reset a computer because some people messed up the configuration. There are already many tools available that automatically reset Windows to the default settings on boot up, so that you are not able to change anything on a computer permanently.

So, all in all, I’d say this is a high-in-demand feature that many people would use to “fix” their computer. It’ll be interesting to see if this will be one of the implemented features or if it’ll be dismissed.

Useless or Powerful Feature?

What do you think about a possible “reset to factory default” feature? Useless or powerfool tool?
