If the recent Gamescom event showed us anything it is that there is plenty to get excited about for the next generation, but which Xbox one title is getting new excited the most?
Battlefield 4 will be powered by the superpowerful Frostbite 3 engine, which is expected to shine on the next generation of consoles. This DICE developed first person shooter will have an incredible 66 man multiplayer mode and gamers will get the chance to gun each other down right from the off – the game is released on launch.
Call of Duty: Ghosts
How can you not get excited about the first next-generation Call of Duty? The title will obviously also be released on current generation consoles , but it is the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions that are set to prove the most definitive. Infinity Ward will be looking to make sure that Call of Duty is as prominent in the next generation of consoles as it was in the current one.
Destiny is one title that is getting everybody talking with its unique blend of always online multiplayer action and ” public events” that can occur at any moment during gameplay. Bungie’s first new series since Halo, they are looking to make a revolution happen in first person shooters like they did the first time round for consoles with Halo: Combat Evolved on the original Xbox. Can Destiny live up to the hype?
Forza Motorsport 5
Looking back through the years it seems that every console has launched with one great racing game and Forza Motorsport 5 will be looking to be the pick of the bunch for the Xbox One. The series has progressed significantly and is now a firm rival to Gran Turismo’s simulation racing crown. It is also seeking to blur the line between multi player and single player with its unique Driveatar system and if this gameplay is as good as it looks were in for a treat!
When Microsoft announced that they will be revitalising the cult facourite Killer Instinct fighting game for the Xbox One fans reacted with a sense of anticipation along with trepidation . The good news is it looks like Double Helix Game are taking the development of this title extremely seriously and if the screenshots and trailers are anything to go by we can relax and look forward to a great fighting title. The game will be free to play with gamers getting one initial character and can purchase more thereafter – meaning everyone will get the chance to play this title.
The jury remains out on Project Spark, which is set to be Microsoft’s answer to LittleBigPlanet and Minecraft. The game will be making full use of Kinect and SmartGlass allowing players to create games, worlds, characters and pretty much anything that their creative minds can come up with. This title definitely has a lot of potential, but will it deliver?
Watch Dogs is an open world action adventure with heavy stealth elements .The game that takes place in an alternative version Chicago where a revolution in technology means the everyday monitoring of all the residents of the city is the norm. You play a hacker who sets to break free from the mould using both brain and fists in a neo-punk setting. This is set to be one of Ubisofts most ambitious games ever and one of the first blockbusters of the next generation.
Titanfall is another title that had everybody buzzing at Gamescom. This multiplayer only title will pit giant mech machines against more nimple shooters in some epic looking environments. Wall jumping, jet pack flying, guns , fast-paced action and giant mech machines all in one game? Bring it on!
