Gamers around the world are waiting eagerly to find out what Microsoft has planned for the future of their various games and gaming devices. To make sure that everyone will have the ability to view the event as it is occurring, Spike TV and GameTrailers TV are going to broadcast it live across a variety of platforms.
Watch E3 2011 Live on Spike TV
Spike TV has once again contracted with Microsoft so that viewers can watch E3 2011 live. Spike TV and GameTrailer TV have over 20 hours of E3 related coverage planned. The press conference will be aired live from the USC’s Galen Center in LA. Spike TV will also be traveling to about five or six other locations around Los Angeles to make sure that gamers will receive all the latest updates and news as things happen. The show will be hosted by GameTrailer TV personalities Amanda McKay, Daniel Kayser, and Geoff Keighley.
Where Else to Watch E3 2011 Live
Since Microsoft’s press conference is scheduled to take place during the week, many gamers will be unable to watch the live broadcast on Spike TV. To make sure that everyone can have access to the E3 coverage, Spike TV has paired with GameTrailers.com to make the coverage available on a multitude of different platforms. Users can stream it live from gametrailers.com, spike.com, Xbox.com/E3 and MTV.com. The coverage will be available on mobile platforms and on Facebook. It will also be available on demand on Xbox LIVE. Finally, it will show in Times Square in New York City.
Planned Features, Events and Programs
There are a number of features, events, and programs planned for those who are going to watch E3 2011 live. The coverage will begin Friday, June 3 at 1AM EDT (Thursday, June 2 10PM PDT) with a special titled E3 First Look. The main event, the Microsoft Xbox press conference, will air on June 6. Press conferences from Nintendo, Sony Playstation, Ubisoft, and Electronic Arts will be covered as well. In addition, Spike will air expert analysis before and after the proceedings, which should help mainstream viewers understand the significance of the events that are going on.
The Press Conference
The Microsoft Xbox press conference is called Xbox 360: The Future Revealed. It will take place on June 6 at 9:30AM PDT (12:30 PM EDT). The conference will be aired in HD on Spike TV and will also be available in HD online, powered by the Akamai HD Network platform. Since the conference will be available online in HD, gamers can watch E3 2011 live from just about anywhere and still get crystal clear pictures. Spike TV will not show any commercials for the entire ninety minutes that the conference is being aired.
What the Conference Will Discuss
Microsoft has been surprisingly tight lipped about their plans for the future and for E3, and hasn’t revealed much about what they will unveil. However, it is known that at some point during the press conference, Microsoft will tell gamers about its plans for the Xbox 360 and Kinect. There are rumors swirling that approximately ten new games for Kinect will be showcased as well. For the Xbox 360, viewers will get a glimpse of Forza Motorsport 4 and there will also be a new demo of Gears of War 3.
