Star Trek 2 Movie (3D) Shooting Begins, Official Release Date Announced

If you liked the Star Trek movie by J.J. Abrams, you will be glad to hear that the shooting for Star Trek 2 has begun and they are shooting in 3D as well.

Star Trek 2 movie release date

The film shooting has begun very recently, we do not know the exact date. The first movie had a budget of 140,000,000 and was one of the best Sci-Fi movies in recent years, ranking high on movie sites like IMDB (IMDB Rating 8.1).

The emotional roller coaster that made the Star Trek movie a highlight for non-trekkies and trekkies alike will be really hard to top. The characters are now established, so the story will probably focus on the exploration of the final frontier also known as space.

Supposedly, they will show us some new races and add some classical Star Trek jokes the to the mix, but we won’t know for sure until later this year when they release the first trailers. The movie is scheduled for a release in May 2013 and the script is well protected, printed on red paper to avoid leaks ahead of the release (more difficult to copy)

Official Release Date: May 17th, 2013

Shown In 3D: Yes

We’ll keep you posted when they release the first teaser trailer.
