SimCity for PC announced, 2013 release date confirmed, PC only. Here are the specs, a trailer and why this SimCity could become one of the best.
SimCity announcement comes with plenty of exciting features
SimCity for the PC has been announced, along with its official site and trailer.
SimCity will feature constructible worlds, giving players control over what they want their city to look like. Buildings will be customisable, unlocking “additional functionality … and gameplay benefits.” Putting buildings in different places will also affect the bonuses they grant. Completing missions will also unlock better buildings for cities.
The reveal also confirms that SimCity will include multiplayer, allowing players to work together to build cities. Cities in your friends’ regions will “directly interact with each other.” Multiplayer extends beyond simply working to build cities, however, as you can also help friends in instances such as sending fire trucks. Conversely, you can ruin other cities by causing mass pollution and killing off Sims or make them sick.
The reveal goes on to to say that players can specialise in a specific industry. For examples, players can specialise in casinos and watch the city become a major tourist attraction or invest in schools and develop the city into an educational institution. You can also transform the city into a “manufacturing powerhouse that fuels the region.” Specialising in certain industries will change the appearance of the city, along with the “personality.”
The reveal also confirms the game is running a new engine, called the GlassBox Engine. The engine has been described as “ the revolutionary simulation technology that gives you the power to impact individual Sims lives.” The engine also impacts every Sim, with some going to work or going to a store to do shopping.
Sims speak to players, requesting them to take certain actions (e.g., building hospitals if people are sick).
