Prototype 2 Debut Trailer
Prototype 2 is being developed by Radical; it’s the sequel to the 2009 action based game. Radical have decided to change how they originally had the game set out, in Prototype 2 your abilities are upgradeable and you have to earn them, you can earn different abilities from either underground lairs or from fighting enemies.
Being able to “upgrade” your character and its abilities is possibly the most important thing a single player game needs to have, if you cannot complete with other players on the internet, then at least you’re going to want to compete with yourself, to try and unlock new abilities etc.
Prototype 2 Ability System
That’s the main reason they’ve decided to change the way the whole ability system works, in Prototype 1 it was pretty easy to get all of the different abilities very quickly, you didn’t really need to work for them at all to say the least and well, it just sucked.
Along with being able to earn different abilities and upgrade them, there is also a whole Perk system, you can earn these perks though Black Net sets, you can set a limited number of perks to your account, like in COD, you can only select a limited number of perks to use at each time. I’m assuming you’ll also be able to upgrade perks, or at least unlock different / new perks further into the game.
The game is set to be released at some point in 2012, it’s yet to be announced exactly when we’ll be able to play Prototype 2, but I’m personally looking forward to playing this game, I mean open world games are usually quite fun, even when they are on single player.
Although you’ll only be able to play Prototype 2 on the Playstation 3, so you PC gamers and Xbox gamers aren’t going to be able to get your hands on a copy of Prototype, unless of course you have a PS3 as well!
