UK video game and hardware retailers GAME and Gamestation have announced pre-ordering Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will snag users a host of pre-order goodies, in-game and in the real world. Only some have been revealed, with the struggling retail chain (GAME) promising more announcements.

Video game retailer GAME, and its sister store, Gamestation, has announced pre-ordering the next Call of Duty titles is worth more than just the game. To prove this is the case, you’ll get a sweet range of pre-order bonuses and GAME promises many more are to come.
The first wave of perks, suggesting more are coming, brings the Quadrotor drone as an avatar pro for Xbox players and as a theme for PlayStation 3 buyers; entry into competition to be flown out to Gamescom from August 18-19, with the sweepstake closing August 5; the Nuketown 2025 map can be claimed for a £10 deposit, also.
GAME added more perks will be announced, presumably as we get closer to releases, and the sooner pre-orders are made the better the pre-order bonuses. Previously, other retailers – GameStop, notably – announced pre-ordering the title got the Nuketown 2025 map for free. It’s probably going to release as DLC though. This is Activision after all.
Worried You’re Missing Out? Don’t
If you’ve pre-ordered Black Ops 2 before the announcements, just put down a £5 deposit to get the perks. GAME Reward Card owners can pre-online to get access to the bonuses, or get a Reward Card for free and then get the bonuses.
We don’t know what the additional perks are, or when they’ll arrive, but we’re guessing there will be weapon skins/bonus weapons or maybe even access to a perk early, which would fit into the marketing GAME is running.
While I’m against pre-ordered bonuses because it encourages buying multiple copies of the game to buy content that should be in the title, this seems superfluous. It’s cool cosmetic bonuses for people really into the series, similar to the weapon and armor skins in Halo 4.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 launches November 13 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
