Windows 98 is pretty oldschool now. If you want to bring back some old memories, give this Windows 98 wallpaper theme a try that will bring you back to the year 1998.

Did you know that the codename of Windows 98 was Memphis? Windows 98 was released back on 25th June 1998. (RTM: 15 May 1998)

Support for Windows 98 was continued until January 16th, 2004. That’s quite amazing how long Microsoft supports their products, even although they could simply stop supporting it as soon as they dish out a new Windows version.

Just another interesting fact: Internet Explorer 4.01 was included in Windows 98. Yep, 12 years later we are using IE9.
IE4, IE5, IE6, IE7, IE8, IE9 = 12 years = 2 years per browser, but Microsoft will shorten that cycle to 1 year and release IE10 in 2012!
