The Office for iPad product has clearly been one of Microsoft biggest achievements during 2013, but one nagging concern about it has been the yearly subscription plan that comes with it. Starting on Tuesday, Microsoft and Apple now allow for users to pay with better flexibility.
The Office for iPad has been a product that allows users to view files for free, but charged for any editing features, and charged on a yearly basis. That large purchase was ok for some, but for those on budgets or want a reasonable payment option, it was a challenging option.
Monthly Plan Now Available
In a blog post, Microsoft announced that starting Tuesday September 2, users will now be able to purchase Office 365 Personal or Office 365 Home on their iPads. This will allows them to run Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the biggest office productivity programs on their iPad with maximum productivity.
By allowing them to directly subscribe to these plans, they will be able to pay for it monthly now. The plans start at $6.99 per month for the Office 365 Personal plan and $9.99 per month for the Office 365 Home. Both offer varying benefits for those who use Office on their iPads and on regular desktops or laptops.
