For anyone who was curious as to what Microsoft had up its sleeve, certainly got their answers during Microsoft’s Tuesday announcement. The company announced a number of new products, ranging from laptops, tablets, phones, and even a new Band wearable.
Tuesday’s event in New York City started early, and hit the ground running with immediate announcements of new products. Satya Nadella was on hand to announce and show them off, and all of them showcased the power of Windows 10 running on them today.
Surface Book and Surface Pro 4
The biggest shocker during Tuesday’s briefing, was the announcement of the Surface Book. This is a new and ultimate laptop, and brings touch and pen together. It’s a full laptop with a creative canvas, 6th Gen Intel processor, high end display, and amazing looks and flexibility.
Microsoft also announced the next version of the Surface Pro devices, with the Surface Pro 4. It now has a sharper screen, up to 16GB of memory, and up to a 1 TB SSD drive. It is much lighter than the current version, and runs the full suite of Windows software on it.
New Phones, Dock and Wearables
Along with the Surface Book and Surface Pro 4, Microsoft also unveiled the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL, and both of these are the newest Windows 10 flagship phones. 3GB of onboard memory, the ability to run Windows 10, and more makes these highly desirable. They also announced a low end Lumia 550 as well.
With these announcements, Microsoft also talked about the newest Microsoft Band 2, which is scheduled for early next year. They also announced early pricing for the Microsoft HoloLens Development Editions, and showed off the Xbox One compatibility with the Xbox 360 and working with Windows 10.
Tuesday’s announcements were big for Windows 10 and Microsoft. The Surface Book stole the show, and these all should be available in the next few weeks.
