New Microsoft Band Gets General Availability
The wearable category of consumer finance is becoming a very tightly battled arena, and many companies are eager to onboard. Microsoft joined the fight early, but struggled early. On Friday, Microsoft announced the availablity of the new Microsoft Band for users in the US.
The US customers are going to be the first to take advantage of the rebuilt and rebranded Microsoft Band. It has been updated via lots of feedback and support, and is a much sleeker device than the previous model released from Microsoft.
New Band Features
The new Microsoft Band features an eleventh sensor, a barometer and is perfect for hiking and climbing. The built-in GPS also stores the data on the wrist, so syncing is easier. It also is syncing easier with Microsoft Health and Windows 10.
It works with Android, iOS, and Windows devices, and features a new weight-loss parter called Lose It. It allows users to input calorie input, track their exercise, and gives them ways and motivation to lose weight and stay focused.
Newly Designed
The biggest features about the Microsoft Band, is the new Corning Gorilla Glass 3 display, and that enables notifications to the wrist easier. It also features call alerts, email, texts, and social media updates. Cortana can also be used with it as well.
It’s now available at Microsoftstore.com and at retailers throughout the US. The 110 stores have them ready to buy at a fair price, and Microsoft is eager to solicit user feedback on the newest Band. It should be a much better version than before.
If you love fitness, try out the Band. It looks nice, and maybe it will be a hit for Microsoft.
