MSN Gets Major News & Portal Overhaul

The MSN portal for many is a default portal for users, and hasn’t gotten a lot of updates in the past. Microsoft in revamping its products online, has been hinting about a MSN update for sometime. Late Friday, MSN was reborn, and with it got a huge update of news and online content.

The brand new MSN preview, is still in preview mode and not totally available for all users. The update though, totally changes the MSN portal from what it was, and transforms it into a destination that matches up with Yahoo and other news portals that users will want to use.

Microsoft Debuts New MSN Preview Site For Users

Services & Sections In Full Display

What really makes the MSN overhaul a true visionary accomplishment is the ability to access Microsoft services from the top row. There, Outlook, Office, OneNote, OneDrive, Maps, Facebook, Twitter, Xbox Music, and Skype are accessible from the top row. These make Microsoft’s services available and very visible for all users.

Additionally, the weather and top category sections make it easier to navigate the MSN site, from the previous versions. The weather for your city is displayed, along with News, Entertainment, Sports, Money, Lifestyle, Health & Fitness, Food & Drink, Travel, Autos, and Videos. Making the news easier to find and content easier to use.

Microsoft Makes News & Content More Visible In MSN Preview

News In Content Boxes

The other thing that helps the new MSN pop is the ability to view content from across the web on MSN. MSN has put all the various content around the web into various boxes and sections, and users are able to reorganize the content at need. This makes it easier to view, and organize ones content when they want to view it.

Scrolling down the page keeps all the various content inline, and makes it easier to view the content in its categories. From Autos to Video, the content scrolls through quickly, and users will find it easier to use. MSN has this version of its preview available for an unknown time, and will make it the default version soon. Also, mobile updates to the MSN clients will be updated as well for users in the next few months.

I like the new MSN. Its snappy and one I will use daily.
