Microsoft Celebrated 2015 With Devices
As the year of 2015 closed out, Microsoft clearly became a company of devices, that ranged from phones to laptop/tablet devices. It started with a couple new phones, and transitioned into a great celebration of design from Microsoft.
In their blog post closing out the year, Microsoft highlighted their devices that got released during 2015. From phones, surface tablets, hololens devices, and more, it became a year that Microsoft shined with consumers and devices.
The Phones
Early in 2015, Microsoft unveiled their earliest of phones with the Nokia 105, which at $20 was meant for the world market. This along with other smaller Nokia phones helped them work out the existing inventory of phones.
During the year, the phones moved to better Lumia phones with the Lumia 425, 540, 550, and lastly the 950. The Lumia brand gave users Windows to people on phones, gave them a great working device, and something to enjoy with Windows.
Surfaces to Hololens
Along with phones, Microsoft also unveiled a cheaper Surface 3, and gave students and businesses reasons to buy a cheaper Surface. Later in the year, Microsoft came out with the Surface Book, and most recently the Surface Pro 4.
While the new Microsoft Band and Surface Hub caught some interest, the HoloLens is the star of 2015. It’s fully untethered holographic computer powered by Windows 10 wowed the press. It’s still being worked on, with a 2016 release date.
2015 was a big year for Microsoft. Hopefully, 2016 will be bigger.
