Microsoft Announces Earnings Coming January 23rd, 2014
As more of an investor story with the MSFT stock, Microsoft in a press statement announced that they would be publishing their fiscal year 2014 second-quarter financial results after the close of the stock market on January 23rd, 2014, which might see more than just financials reported.
The announcement at the end of the week sets forth a few weeks of anticipated numbers from Microsoft, and should point the company towards billions of revenue and profits. We could even see a new Microsoft CEO by then, but more than likely it will be strong numbers from Microsoft.
What Microsoft Will Show
In its second-quarter financials for the fiscal year 2014, Microsoft will be telling investors its gross revenues, the breakdown of its businesses, and the profits that it generated during that quarter. It should include the holiday season and the debut of the Xbox One sales numbers into the quarterly numbers.
The Xbox One will be a strong portion of this quarterly number from Microsoft, and should be a chunk of the revenues for the company. As the latest numbers from Microsoft have been reported, the company has sold an estimated two million plus consoles at $500 each, and that quickly adds up to a billion dollar revenue stream there.
CEO News During Earnings Call?
While most of those who are following Microsoft closely, including myself, are looking for news surrounding the next CEO, we probably won’t hear news about it during the call. Normally, the company won’t announce management shifts within the company during the call, and Steve Ballmer should be on his probable last earnings call on this one.
Microsoft is planning to be at the JP Morgan Tech Forum on January 7th, 2014 in the release as well, where Bill Duff, the CFO of Operating Systems will be speaking. Analysts will listen carefully to what he says, as the future of Windows 8.1 and the next generation operating systems could be discussed. Either way, the month of January should pack a lot of financial news from the company, along with huge revenues and profits for Microsoft.
I love Microsoft earnings calls and will be listening. The company should see huge profits and the Xbox One will be a large portion of it.
