Three years after the launch of Grand Theft Auto IV, Rockstar Games, franchise creator and owner has announced another title. After hitting the stores in 2008, Grand Theft Auto IV has become a mega hit across the globe with 6 million sold copies and raking in $5 million just in the first week of sales. Speculations about the follow up started when Rockstar North posted job ads in connection with the new title for filling posts for physics programmers, environment artists and character animators.
On 25 October, Rockstar games announced the grand unveiling through their twitter account, along with a link to the homepage. The splash page only unveiled the logo of the Grand Theft Auto V, besides stating that the trailers would be unveiled on 2 November. On 3 November, Grand Auto Theft V was announced to be in full development.
