How can Diablo 3 continue to have issues, seemingly, every week? That’s not for us to answer, but Blizzard is in the process of fixing another: trade scams in the Real Money Auction House.

The latest issue to explode on the Diablo 3 forums is about informing users of hacking attempts in-game, specifically referring to the Real Money Auction House. Players are seeing items disappear from accounts, and reappear in the Real Money Auction House (RMAH), and Blizzard says it does know about the issue.
The first recommendation from Blizzard is to avoid trading in the RMAH if possible, in a blog post on the game’s forum. It’s where a user said to provide a log-in window informing users, not active on the Diablo 3 forum or others, of issues. The Blizzard representative posting said the suggestions will be sent to the developers.
The post said the studio is aware of the scams (referring to the aforementioned issue) players are experiencing, and the developer have been talked to about the issue. The group is working on finding a solution. The representative revealed a hotfix can’t sort the issues; rather, a full client patch is required. However, testing and implementation can delay patches.
Tell Blizzard Directly If You’re Hacked
As the development studio has said before, e-mail email@example.com if there’s an issue. Creating threads is, usually, not the productive way to alert Blizzard of issues.
It’s almost becoming a joke how many times we report on Diablo 3 issues. Shortly after launching during the second quarter of 2012, Korean and Chinese players had a dispute (sometimes in-game) as Chinese players obtained illegal copies of the game. Other issues included items and gold being stolen, and numerous downtime errors during the early moments of the game’s launch. Blizzard’s Seoul office was investigated for not allowing Korean players refunds.
It’s remarkable the game has sold 10 million copies despite the issue, and taken a million subscribers away from the company’s MMORPG World of Warcraft. We’ll have to see how Blizzard aims to retain the players, given the lack of compelling end-game content.
