Lenovo Windows 8 Ultrabook Bends Over Backwards

Lenovo, along with almost every big computer maker on the block, has been working on Windows 8 devices so that they can be ready by the time Microsoft is ready to release Windows 8 commercially. And that is why this year at CES we have a lot of Windows 8 devices on display, especially Ultrabook models.

None of these devices are for sale yet of course because Windows 8 itself is still under development. But that does not stop anyone from getting a taster of what is going to come to the market later this year.

Lenovo has been showing off their interesting looking Ultrabook that has been nickenamed ‘Yoga’ because it has a screen that bends over backwards to turn all the way to the bottom of the device in order to become a tablet of sorts. You can also open the lid up somewhat and watch a movie in ‘tent mode’ – you can see the tent mode on the picture at the top

This is a 13.1inch Ultrabook that belongs to the Lenovo IdeaPad series and it is 0.67 inches thick. It weighs 3.1 pounds and has a battery life rating of 8 hoursin a single full charge. The IdeaPad Yoga comes with SSD storage and it can be upgraded to include a 256GB SSD.

It will go on sale later this year when Windows 8 is officially launched. At the time of launch, it is expected to have a price tag of $1,200 and that is not likely to come down even with Intel’s Ultrabook fund. That is because SSD’s are still pretty expensive and that special hinge with a touchscreen is still pretty expensive to include in a device.
