Windows 7 News

Microsoft confirmed that you will be able to put Windows 7 on a USB drive to install it on netbooks and laptops that lack a DVD drive.
Sidenote: You can download Windows 7 through Microsoft’s own store, so you don’t even have to buy a DVD. I suppose this edition might be slightly cheaper, too. If you want to save some bucks, you shouldn’t miss this chance!

I found a very amusing photo on Crunchgear.com:

Ballmer is talking about Windows 7 on the show “TodayShow”. In the background you can see Windows 7 running on a MAC.
Windows 7 includes one awesome feature that many people were not aware of: Internet TV.

Yep, the Windows Media Center has a lot of great features: You can watch Internet TV, it has the ability to stream and record TV (basically you grab a TV tuner that you connect via USB and you can watch TV on your PC and record it) and you can also do it vice-versa. If you want to, you can also watch netflix movies through the Windows Media Center.
Great news for all people with a MultiTouch device and all Kindle fans. If you ever wanted to read Amazon Kindle eBooks on your desktop PC or on your notebook, then you will finally get a chance to do that in a few months. Amazon will release a software that will allow you to do that!

Best of all, the software will suport MultiTouch – a Windows 7 feature that allows you to control objects on your desktop with your hand (on a touchscreen).
This weekend many people will finally install Windows 7 on their PC’s. I hope you all have a hassle-free weekend installing and using Windows 7. Should you run into any problems, you can either read through our site (I suggest to check out the category “tweaks”), leave a comment, use our forums or contact me via Twitter.
So, have you received your very own copy of Windows 7 yet? (Poll inside).

Yay, it’s finally out! Now that Windows 7 is finally available in stores, Microsoft re-designed their websites. The starting page is now green and filled with quotes of Twitter users.
Microsoft will open a “Windows Café” in Paris on the date Windows 7 will be released. They are also opening several offline stores in the US this fall, right next to the Apple stores. Stores in other countries are also planned.

They plan to have a “Guru Bar” in their stores so that people can get professional help with their products whenever they need it.
