Should you receive the following message, then you have to download another hotfix.
The attempt to join this computer to the <domain_name>.com domain failed. The parameter is incorrect.
Microsoft released several new hotfixes for Windows 7. Among those there is a hotfix for the Installer that apparently seems to crash a lot while installing or updating certain applications.
