Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Logo Leaked, Trailer To Be Released This Month
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2′s logo has been leaked, suggesting a debut trailer for part 9 this month.
Uninspiring Black Ops 2 logo leaked ahead of potential April trailer
The outstanding memory from this generation might be the slew of Call of Duty releases every year that, since Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, have largely kept the same formula. Sure, we’ve seen balance tweaks and new currency systems in Call of Duty: Black Ops but consumers are beginning to grow tired of the formula. That said, we’re getting at least one more released this generation with Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.
Despite the lack of a firm release date – though it’s likely the launch in November, the logo for Black Ops 2 has been leaked. While hardly inventive, basically bringing the same logo over from the first title, the more interesting piece of information is the accompanying date: “04.28.2012.”
The data is two years exactly after the reveal trailer for the Black Ops, so the data seems to be pointing towards another trailer. It certainly wouldn’t be a surprise, with E3 2012 not too far away at this point as the expo begins in June.
What’s more, the image was taken down from the official Call of Duty website when discovered suggesting the image is legitimate. The URL for the image is also http://www.callofduty.com/bo2/images. Modern Warfare 3 use a similar URL for images: callofduty.com/mw3/images.
Black Ops 2 needs consistent mechanics
Call of Duty is entering a difficult period, with consumers growing tired of the franchise as it continues to push out the same mechanics with a new coat of paint. That said, I felt Black Ops was a refreshing and polished change compared to the huge lack of balance in Modern Warfare 2. Quick scoping wasn’t such an issue, grenade launchers were nullified and the quality of maps was consistently good (aside from Nuke Town)
I think Black Ops 2 just needs to continue this trend, and improve Modern Warfare 3’s flaws. One of the basic elements I don’t like about Infinity Ward’s title is the inconsistent netcode, with varying amounts of hit needs to kill someone. If Treyarch improve this, they’ll improve the experience, and improve the game as a whole.
