EA CEO John Riccitello confirmed that Battlefield 3 is on its way. He did not mention a concrete release date, but confirmed that the game will hit the stores in late 2011.

Confirmed Battlefield 3 Release: Late 2011 (Possibly October – December, October more likely)

First off in 2011, EA has some really hot cakes: Crysis 2, Bulletstorm, Dead Space and of course Star Wars The Old Republic. Later in the year, they will release Mass Effect 3 and Battlefield 3, as well as RPG hit Dragon Age 2. Looks like EA will have quite a year. Activision promised a new Call of Duty game every year. So, it will be interesting to see if EA will release Battlefield 3 before or after the new Call of Duty game hits the stores.

The latest Battlefield expansion, Battlefield Bad Company 2 Vietnam is now available for only about $15 via Steam (keep in mind, limited holiday offer).
