Backup Pinned Items Folder in Windows 7
You’re preparing a full hard drive backup? Make sure to backup pinned items located in a special folder.
Pinned Items Folder Location
The pinned items are located at
C:\Users\[yourusername]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned
In there are 3 folders:
- ImplicitAppShortcuts
- StartMenu
- TaskBar
You should create a backup of all of them.
IMPORTANT: To actually locate the folder above, you need to be able to see hidden system files and folders. If you are unsure if you can do that, read our tutorial how to see hidden files/folders
To quickly access the pinned items folder you may use the variable %USERPROFILE%
