Outer Space Windows 7 Themes!

Thanks for the report Scott. I tried the themepack myself and wasn’t able to apply it, so I went ahead extracted the content with 7zip and re-created the themepack.. worked just fine then. Re-download the file now and it should work!

Hope this helps! Thanks again

Final Fantasy XIV Alt-Tab Alternatives

Wow that’s a nice surprise that the Steam option worked for you. For some reason it no longer works for me.

You access the dashboard via SHIFT + Tab, correct?

Borderlands on Windows 7 (x64)

AA & AF = Antialiasing and Ansitropic Filtering

You should be able to disable Vsync in your Catalyst control center under OpenGL/D3D (display properties).

Sometimes, it can help to downgrade graphic card drivers for specific games. I know this might not be a solution, but if you’re trying to figure out what the problem is I would give it a try, but first try to diable Vsync it’s often causing problems.

If you don’t know what port forwarding is or how to do it, I recommend to visit the website http://portforward.com – which will help you to forward all ports that are a) required to update Final Fantasy 14 and b) possibly to play Final Fantasy 14

Final Fantasy XIV has stopped working

James, could you to forward the following ports:

TCP Ports: 25, 80, 110, 443, and 50000 – 65535
UDP Ports: 50000 – 65535

You can download ALL patches here:

Please let us know if this works for you, we’re trying to figure out what the problem is.

New updates will be posted shortly.

Borderlands on Windows 7 (x64)

Strauts, did you try to update your drivers? Is it a NVIDIA or ATI card?

Also try to disable AA, AF or other graphic settings temporarily. Make sure you have the latest DirectX and the correct 64-bit drivers for your card. Other than that there’s not much you can do. Maybe try to reset your BIOS settings or disable Vsync in games.

Upload Windows 7 Themes

MGfan, great work! You forgot to add the custom sounds thou, but still a nice package.

Final Fantasy XIV has stopped working

Little update on this. If you want to download Final Fantasy 14 patches via the client instead of downloading and installing them manually, you should forward the following ports in your router software:

55296 – 55551
UDP and TCP.

Final Fantasy XIV has stopped working

Michele, that’s a very interesting find. I think this might help a lot of people to fix the “has stopped working” problem.

My theory is that Final Fantasy XIV requires some ports to be open that your home router is blocking. I’ll try to figure out which port you have to forward to make it work again.

Windows 8 Screenshots

Actually, Windows 8 is real. Please do your homework first before being smart :)

Windows 8 also known as Windows.next is an upcoming Windows OS scheduled for a 2012 release. So, yes it’s definitely on the way and in development right now.

What you are talking about is a modified Windows 7 version that some smart people want to sell as Windows 8.

Thanks for the 404 report. File downloads are fixed and are now working.

Run Final Fantasy XIV in Full Screen Instead Of Windowed Mode

Glad you fixed it and thanks for letting us know what the problem was. Btw, full screen mode might not that good, every time you use ALT + tab your client will end the game. There is no good work around other than Windowed mode and setting the window size to your screen resolution.

More about that Alt+tab issue here:

Cynder, repeat steps 1-4 and then from the dropdown select English. You will then be able to follow the other steps.

H2010.08.30.2000.patch is 4.5GB large. Do you really suggest downloading it through the client? This won’t work and would take days.

I suggest that you should delete the file, but then download it from another source, e.g. download the client from hotfile (see links that I posted)

"bootmgr is compressed" in Windows 7

Hit DEL to get into the BIOS and change your boot order so that the PC will boot from DVD FIRST. Please look into your motherboard manual to learn more about this.

Then your PC will boot from DVD and you can repair the bootmgr.
