    Guys, don’t download any crappy SW to change your Win7, logon Screen.

    Its simple.. just follow these steps..

    Just copy the following into a text file, rename the file with a .reg extension, save it and double click it:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System]
    “UseOEMBackground”=dword:00000001

    Next,

    Copy the background image file you want to use into the Backgrounds folder::: %windir%\Windows\System32\oobe\info\Backgrounds

    The Background image file should follow these parameters:

    * File Name: backgroundDefault.jpg
    * Format: JPG
    * Size: No greater than 256kb
    Viola.. You are done.. no restarts reqd.

    Have fun.

    Roy, thanks for the detailed instructions, I’m sure some want to change their logon backgrounds manually.

    Roy and Travis, I know some prefer to do it manually, but some people, like me, just prefer the easy way ;)
